2019 Ford Fusion Debuts with Big Updates

As the spring auto show season continues along its merry way here in the United States, Ford fans have been blessed with a seemingly never-ending supply of good news about forthcoming models, with the most recent addition having been announced late last month in the form of an updated Ford Fusion.

What the brand seems most excited about in the latest iteration of this best-selling sedan is that it is the first automobile in the stable to offer standard state-of-the-art Ford Co-Pilot360 advanced safety technologies, though the new models also get updated exterior styling and a better all-electric range for the Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid model.

"People tell us they are stressed with crowded roads and more distracted drivers and pedestrians. Our Ford Co-Pilot360 with standard automatic emergency braking and other technologies can help them drive more confidently so they can enjoy the journey," said Corey Holter, Ford car group marketing manager. "For our green-minded customers, we've amped up our Ford Fusion Energi with a projected increase of nearly 20 percent electric-only driving range."

Ford Co-Pilot360 includes features like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot warnings, lane-keeping assistance, a rear backup camera, and automatic high-beam lighting.

As for the boosted electric range of the plug-in hybrid version of the sedan, Ford estimates that 80 percent of owners now will be able to make their daily commutes without having to use a single drop of fuel, which should make their lives easier and do a little better by the environment.

While these vehicles have not made their way to Hall Ford Elizabeth City just yet, we have plenty of 2018 Ford cars available for test driving in the meantime. The Ford Fusion is an excellent automobile, and it's about to get even better!
