Both the 2019 Ford Escape and 2019 Honda CR-V are popular choices in the compact crossover SUV segment. Drivers buying a vehicle in this segment are often looking for a commuter-friendly and family-friendly vehicle that is safe and filled with cutting-edge tech features and comfort for both drivers and passengers. Here at Hall Ford Elizabeth City, we have the 2019 Ford Escape on our lot, and we’d like to compare it with the 2019 Honda CR-V.

The 2019 Ford Escape has three available engines, starting with the base 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder. At the top of the line is the powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that is good for 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. The 2019 Honda CR-V has two available engines. The more powerful one is a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that cranks out 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque, both considerably lower numbers than that of the Ford SUV.

Safety and Driver-Assist Systems

Every version of the 2019 Ford Escape for sale near Camden, NC comes standard with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of safety and driver assist features. This system combines features like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, and automatic high-beam actuation. The 2019 Honda CR-V has all of these features, but they’re only available as add-on options on all but the higher trim levels.

The Ford Escape boasts a six-inch head-up display, 115-volt plug, rear-seat air vents, and two USB charging outlets. In contrast, the 2019 Honda CR-V does not have the head-up display and only two 2.5-amp USB charging sockets.
