When you're shopping for a new crossover, you have a lot of choices. At Hall Ford Elizabeth City, we understand that the options can seem overwhelming, but we can tell you all about how some of our favorite models make for smart purchases. A vehicle like the 2020 Ford Escape does a lot of things well and stands up favorably to competing models, like the 2020 Chevy Equinox. In what ways, do you ask?

The 2020 Ford Escape impresses on the safety front, making it an ideal family vehicle. Both crossovers offer a variety of safety and driver assistance features, but the Ford model simply offers some tech that you won't find in the 2020 Chevy Equinox. This includes a driver alert monitor, which can tell when the driver of a 2020 Ford Escape is getting drowsy or distracted. The 2020 Ford Escape also offers Post Collision Braking, which can automatically apply the brakes to mitigate damage in the event of an accident. This Ford vehicle also offers an available backup collision prevention system that can automatically apply the brakes to avoid a rear collision. The 2020 Chevy Equinox does not offer these particular features.

The 2020 Ford Escape and 2020 Chevy Equinox can both tow up to 3,500 lb when properly equipped, but the Ford model has the advantage in some key areas. First, its default towing capacity exceeds the Chevy model's, 2,000 lb to 1,500 lb. The 2020 Ford Escape also offers more space. With the rear seat up, the 2020 Ford Escape boasts 37.5 cubic feet of cargo room. Fold that seat down to boost space to 65.4 cubic feet. The 2020 Chevy Equinox only features 29.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats up, and 63.9 cubic feet with the rear seat down.
